Mohamed Abbas presentation

Date: 05 - 28 - 2012
Time: 11:5 am
Location: W103
Subject: Transportation problems
Presenter: Mohamed Abbas

Introduction:
He introduced himself and the topic he was going to talk about, which he dealt with. He had a lot of information about the topic.

What (new) did I learn?

I have learned that there is a system called the integrated transportation system which can reduce the jams and accidents and it also can alert people about what they will be facing on the roads. When people leave their work or houses, so they are going to be able to choose the perfect roads and reach their destination on time.

Moreover there are some applications that need to be applied like adding sensors to taxis and more surveillance cameras.

There should be a department or a base for them to send and collect data to make it work.

And he mentioned some other solutions like groups of people want to their jobs in one car.

Slides:

Nice to look at, easy to know the content and one slide had a picture of the IT’S. I didn’t understand it until he explained. Also the slides had lots of pictures that are related to the main problem and solutions but one thing that Mohamed faced was moving between one slide and another.

Body language and eye contact:

Mohamed could manage looking at the presentation and at the audience.

Fielding questions:

He answered the questions very well, and he was very glad to be asked questions.

Overall Impression:

it was nice to know about this presentation because it had a good solution which is going to change a lot of things in the country  and Mohamed gave his opinion about  the solution

Meeting Reflection

Problem: College gender integration
Venue: W007
Date: Wednesday 7th March
Present:

Mohamed Abbas, Chairman

Ayoob, Secretary

Abdulla Eissa, Participant

Mohamed opened the meeting at 10.30 am, and then he called the agenda of the meeting.  Also he managed the meeting by dividing the time and the points that we discussed. Mohamed mentioned advantages of gender integration in the college. Mohamed talked about the competition will increase between students. I said there is competition between all colleges. Abdulla cleared the point for me.  Abdulla said some of the points of this problem, before Mohamed moved to another point; I added some of the advantages.
The second point was disadvantages; the most important point is our culture with mixed gender. It will be hard to have both genders in the same class. Also I added parking space; now the students didn’t have enough parking.
The third point we had to talk about was classes. Mohamed said the classes are small and he didn’t think that will be a good idea to have gender integration with this space.
In the end we talked about communication; how will it be between them? And Mohamed moved to the solutions of this problem. One of the solutions that I said, the teacher must do more group activities.
The meeting was good and everyone gave his opinion of this problem. Also we will do another meeting to see if we have any points we want to add.

Classes seems to be small said the chairman!
Hedley said how?
We said that there are not enough classes (exam halls); what would happen later on with more students in each class?
Classrooms are a bit too small for us now.

4. Communications

Mohammed made this point and said communication is something important but with mixed classes it will be hard to manage
Ayoob said students are going to be shy and Abdulla agreed because it’s obvious each gender is not used to dealing with the other gender and that’s the big deal.
